Born and bred in a small New England town, I am convinced that I know something about everything, and that my opinion matters. If only to me. Well, you'll see what I mean. And I love to knit, so you'll see what kind of things I'm doing when I should be vacuuming the living room.

Lil' Dribbler Baby Bib

Basic Baby Bib. Free. No stupid registry required.

I used Knitpicks Shine Sport and a size 5 circular needle. My gauge was 5 sts to the inch. Finished measurements are 9 inches wide, 7 inches from neck to hem, and an adjustable button neck opening that will fit a neck from 8 to 10 inches.

CO 20 sts.
Knit four rows.

Row 1 (RS): K3, k1fb, knit to last 4 sts, k1fb, k3.
Row 2 (WS): K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 nine more times for a total of 40 sts on the needle.

Row 3 (RS): Knit
Row 4 (WS): K3, purl to last 3 sts, K3.

Repeat rows 3 and 4 seven more times. (For a longer bib, repeat rows 3 and 4 as desired.)

Row 5 (RS): Knit
Row 6 (WS): k3, p5, k24, p5, k3
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: K3, p5, k24, p5, k3
Row 9: K11, bind off 18 sts, k10 (This leaves two sets of 11 sts on the needle, separated by a large gap. You will work each strap separately, beginning with the left strap. You can let the right strap stitches hang out on the needle, or you can transfer them to some scrap yarn. Whatever does it for you.)
